Got my hands on a second RC4WD Gelande 2 Land Cruiser body. Decided to make this one more of a performer than a top heavy scale looking truck like my blue one.

So first things first, remove the paint job. Sanding it down was not an option so decided to sand blast it.

The proceeded to cutting the doors off

Cleaned off the edges with the dremel

Result so far

Inserted interior to see where it needs cutting

Started prepping the inner side of the outer shell to support the filler plates I plan to install in each door opening.

Then glued the filler plate in place.

How it looks on the inner side. Can only bee seen with the interior removed.

Filler plates glued and ready.

Additional plates glued to fill up so other gaps, namely under the seats.

Next will be a good sanding where the styrene joins with the outer shell, to obtain a clean smooth finish.
To be continued…
