Printed the layout in 1:1 ratio, and laid it on the model railway surface.

To be honest, I found it a total waste of paper and ink. I found no use for it, except to take this picture and admire it for a while. The minute I removed it, I got out my trusty tape measure, ruler and permanent marker, I put on my thinking cap and did it old school, the way I know how! I wanted to build it myself, and not trace the layout. Were's the fun in that? I read the measurements on the plan, measure them on the layout, and mark where the track underlay will be glued. 

So, starting with the red track, I glued the cork for the straight rails first. Next I'll draw and cut the bends and glue those.
