Changed method of use for my OPTO sensors.

I had installed the OPTO sensors inside a tunnel-like structure. The idea was it is so much easier to move this to a new location rather than mounting them under the board. All I would need to do is loosen the two screws at the bottom and slide the structure to a new location.

It was working perfectly until I realised that different heights on locos was a different result on the sensor. Also, most running stock roof tops were black and were not always detected from above. I had white electrical tape on some locos and they did not look the part. I placed small pieces of styrene  in wagons, but not all my trains had wagons. Something needed to change.

So, I made these aluminium brackets to mount my OPTO sensors on and in turn mounted them to the underside of the board.

I could have simply mounted them flat on the underside, but history thought me that I need access to adjust these sensors while in place. They are extremely sensitive to the touch of a tiny Phillips screwdriver, so adjusting them in place is key.

This is what they look like now.

and this is what the underside looks like. Hmmm, I need to cut some slack on that wire
