The locomotive refuelling station (Part 3)

Some time back I started building a refuelling station to host two or four locomotives in one go. 

Now that the track is completed I have started working on the hard standing. I added a layer of 2mm styrene all around the designated area.

Then added a layer of 1mm styrene, the finished surface before painting. This was not so easy. I have always found it difficult to cut 100% straight and this was no exception. Keeping a straight cut to fit along a straight track was not easy but after some time I managed.

The most difficult was cutting and fitting the 1mm styrene between the track itself, especially when you realise that the track is not as straight as you wished it to be  

With the glue dried, I tested the track with my tester 37. Now to start with some detailing
