Automated Yard Test with iTrain

Following my initial attempt at ballasting the track, it was crucial to verify the operational effectiveness of both the track and the three points within the yard. Ensuring that the points smoothly transitioned from one side to the other without any interference from ballast and that the forks were correctly positioned on the furthest side was of utmost importance. To assess this, I set up a brief route in iTrain and orchestrated the movement of two DMUs (Diesel Multiple Units) between sidings. This allowed me to observe whether the trains navigated the track seamlessly. I specifically chose DMUs for their sensitivity to dirty tracks and points, as well as their lack of a stay-alive feature. If the DMUs could successfully complete the task without issues, it indicated that any other locomotive would likely perform well under similar conditions. Feel free to enjoy the video showcasing the test.
