A camera that fits for N Gauge model railways.

After several years of searching for a suitable camera to complement my N Gauge layout with acceptable video quality, I went through the disappointment of discarding five cameras (and securing refunds) that didn't meet my expectations.

While there are numerous compact cameras available for N Gauge layouts, the challenge lies in making them functional due to poorly translated instructions and subpar video quality. Persistence paid off, and I finally found one that met my requirements.

To my surprise, mounting it was a straightforward process. I happened to have an old Mk1 coach that had seen better days, and it served as the perfect platform for the new camera.

I detached the body of the coach, revealing that the chassis is longer than the camera, ensuring that it doesn't impede the movement of the chassis.

Nevertheless, the camera is wider than the chassis, posing an issue with my custom foam tunnel portals. To address this, I opted to sand down specific areas of the portals where the camera was making contact. In the future, I plan to mill away some of the plastic body to create additional clearance.

Additionally, I eliminated the top clip by extracting the pin and milling away the loops that it secured, carefully flattening the rectangle visible in the image below.

The rectangular shape seamlessly fits within the chassis frame, creating a snug fit that allows the camera to navigate the track without requiring any additional securing to the chassis.

Subsequently, I've posted a couple of videos on both my Facebook page and YouTube channel, and thus far, I am thoroughly satisfied with the camera's performance.
