Adding 3D effects on the scratch build station

I started adding the first layer to the doorway. I did this in 3 pieces, leaving the middle for last. To make things even easier, this time, I cut the arch before glueing that middle part in place. It took a couple of tries to get it right, but now I am happy with it.

Added a second layer and again, I cut the arch of the middle part before gluing it on.

With both doors done, I moved to the layers around the windows. This one was tricky. I cut a 3mm strip of 2mm styrene and decided the best way to do this would be to bend it around something with the same diameter as the window arch.  I used a drill bit the same size as the window and heated the styrene up with my heat gun. The result was the one-piece arch layer you can see in the image below.

It looks great in its place so I continued cutting and bending more pieces.

Obviously, there were many casualties. It is a learning process!!

Last image for today. Here you can see 3 windows on the right with their arched layer glued in place. The windows are now looking more finished than before. I am very pleased with the result and look forward to tomorrow to continue the remaining windows and the 4 doors.

I put the model at an angle in the picture above so as to show the shadows of the layers around the door and windows, and in the far left corner of the building.
