Balustrades for the balconies and verandas.

Just finished installing the dividing walls, washrooms, rear walls, garden walls and ceilings and roofs.

Now it is time to turn my attention to the front of the houses, namely the balconies and verandas. I plan on using 6.5mm from the top end of a pack of toothpicks we had at home. The idea is to drill holes into a 1mm strip of styrene some 3mm wide which will hold all the balustrade together, repeating the same at the lower end of the balustrades.

I was thinking of using 2mm x 7mm strips as a wall to surround the verandas as I did with the roofs, but the 1:1 images show that balustrades are used in the balconies. So we will have to do the same to make it look as good as the real images.

As for the verandas, I remember them having green wooden picket fences with opening gates. In time, these broke, due to us kids constantly riding them and being swung from one end of the opening to the other. In time, these gates would no longer swing open to the full as they would drag on the floor until they broke for good. Most were replaced by steel fences, some of which are still there today. I do not wish to buy an N gauge fence kit, I much rather make them myself. I made this much, I would hate to buy something ready-made and use it on this build.

So, time to start working on this and hopefully will have something interesting to show you soon...
