Started painting the row of 4 houses...

I wanted to paint the houses in a limestone colour but one does not find limestone paint on the shelf. I asked for it but I soon found out that no one makes it. Automotive paint shops don't have the formula for limestone colour coz no one paints their cars limestone and if you want your home to be a limestone colour, well then, simply don't paint it because our homes are made from limestone blocks... so I had to mix my own paint by trial and error. Unfortunately, I didn't take note of the mixture, so it is going to be a bit difficult to get the same tone again but.......

Had to apply 4 coats to cover the white styrene with pencil marks all over it... I used a coarse brush as I did not want a smooth clean finish...

Right after that, before the paint was 100% dry, I had mixed some black ink with water and dipped my paintbrush into it and let the black water run down the sides of the building. I had experimented with this method on another painted piece of styrene before attempting anything on this building.

Wished I had a smaller brush to do this but somehow I still managed. The moment I thought I dripped enough watered ink on the side, I wiped it down with a paper napkin...

This is the result at the back, This is where I started from in all honesty!!!

This is what it looks like now. Because of the lack of windows, it looks like an abandoned building block...

Looking forward to putting on the doors, windows and balconies...
