Almost finished the balustrades...

I spent almost 6 hours working on the balustrades today, no easy task I must say but ever so satisfying...

It is all trial and error, measuring doesn't work. Try, pencil in, cut and try it in place. If I'm lucky, it is big and needs cutting down, if not, then I have to start that piece again ... but all good fun...

All the cutting and drilling is done manually... I lost count of how many times I had to start over on different pieces...

I did what I could on the balconies, but it got to a point that it needed glueing down, which means I could not continue working on it until the glue is dry...

So I started the verandas... While working on these, memories of my childhood flooded back of us as kids playing here...

First drill holes and then insert the balustrades...

Once the top part is in , it is ready for glue, but not before I do more work, this way I glue a larger area and by tomorrow it will all be dry enough to be able to continue working...

It does not get any easier. As you can see, the pieces are tiny...

but the end result is rewarding...

This was the longest piece I had to do.

It was not easy to align the top part with all the balustrades in their respective holes in the base...

but I managed, and started glueing it all into place so as to find it all ready and dry to continue tomorrow...

I'm so pleased with the result...
